I'm pretty much okay with both, but would prefer the $10 option.

I have a bit of a "it's not very fair" reaction to putting out small collections then saying "or you can get them all now for less!". It just seems to punish the early buyers so, for the repubs at least, it has to be one or the other.

And in other news, are you going to SDCC this year?

It's a good thing we were there last year! SPN is in Hall H this year and there no way I'd get there early enough to line up in that mess.

I realized this wasn't too clear so clarified in the first ETA. Definitely reprints right now although not direct reprints of paper collections because the Blood stories are scatttered through-out.

I'm not sure if the word count of 40,000 is significant -- we've reissued 26 of our original chapbooks at their original approximately novella lengths at $2.99. That they had a previous existence at that length may or may not be important.

I suspect a thematic or threaded by date approach might give you some flexibility as well as some marketing grip.

The wait for 2 years and go for $9.99 is probably least satisfying for all, as seen from East Winslow.

I pulled 40,000 out of the air because that's about five to eight stories and I figured I, personally, wouldn't mind paying 2.99 for that much content. I think I've only ever cracked 10,000 words once in a short and that was erotica so it may have to go out on it's own anyway. *g*

I should have pointed out that much depends on who you go with in terms of distribution. We created an imprint -- Pinbeam Books -- just for the ebooks and it has worked out well as a way to differentiate, to provide a single source for people looking for our ework to go to while still having a presence in the major ebook stores. It also provides a way for us to link to the *other* ebooks with our names on them from older/other arrangements so we leave neither current publishers nor fans in the lurch.
