So the usual "spring is sprung and my wireless highspeed signal is intermittent because of trees leafing out" (life in the country, gotta love it) turned into "thunderstorms have messed with the towers" to "the servers are screwed".  I was getting bounced off on dial-up.  So when I was actually able to get on line, I'd drop 140 characters into ( Read more... )

It WAS a little worrisome when your last LJ post was pre-Balticon, but the tweets - and Fi's LJ - assured us you were ok.

And I'd heard that Twitter has been having issues lately, so yeah, probably not all the fault of the trees.

Yeah, even intermitent beats 12.9 kps. I used to be able to make tea while a page loaded.

You might consider contacting your tower folks, and finding out how many solid prospects it woud take for them to put a tower closer to you. Also if the chance to place that tower for free on somebody's unused woodlot would sway them. I now folks down here who are getting paid USD $20K yearly for putting up with a cell tower on their land.

Unfortunately, there's not enough people in my end of the county for them to put up a tower. I've offered my unused woodlot...
