Better Late than Never

I had a great time at ConVersion in Calgary.  Spent time with some old friends, made some new ones, and didn't say anything I particularly regret.  Meeting Terry Brooks was a definite high point.   (At the very first SF/F convention I ever went to, back in '77, the only thing I bought was a signed copy of Sword of Shannara.   Terry wasn't there but ( Read more... )

Glad you had a good time, Tanya. I read Smoke & Ashes. It was a great book. I miss Blood Ties. It was an excellent series. Christina Cox is an amazing actress. And Kyle Schmid is so much better looking than Rob Pattinson. Blood Ties never seems to be on anymore.

I recently discovered this: www.horror.org
I didn't know if you were already a member of the Horror Writers Association. At first their website seemed really cool. Then after a while I was completely overwhelmed. There is so much talent concentrated in just a few pages. Unless you're someone like Tanya Huff or Terry Brooks, then it can make you feel like an insignificant drop in the bucket.

Hope you and your family are well. Take care.

I've heard of them but I don't tend to be much of a joiner. So glad to hear you enjoyed Smoke and Ashes!

I just finished reading Enchantment Emporium last night. It was nothing like what I expected based on the cover description, it was better. Loved Jack especially. He was such a teenager (even putting aside his, um, quirks). I do like that it was a complete in one book, but still leaves the opening for more stories.

And Gale girls, huh? Related to Dorothy, by any chance?

Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

I think it's more like Dorothy is related to them... *g*
