So, Google alerts brought up a British urban fantasy author named Suzanne McLeod who's giving away region 2 DVDs (those are the UK ones and they don't play on this side of the poned) of Blood Ties in a contest she's running on her web page this week.

I haven't read either of her books (yet) so this isn't exactly an endorsement but I certainly ( Read more... )

I hadn't known about that Ultimate Hawtest Vampire Poll, but I know who I would have voted for.

I can't remember your thoughts on Kyle Schmid when he was originally cast as Henry, but to me, he really embodied Henry and helped make him the ultimate vampire. Every poor vampire since has had to measure up, and I'm sorry, but most of them don't. There is maybe one thing I'd change, but honestly, Kyle brought a perfect vampire to life. (I guess technically, YOU did...as the books contained so much more lovely Henry-ness.)
Hot or Hawt, however you spell it, Henry Fitzroy will always win.

I agree that Kyle (and Tanya) made Henry the ultimate vampire and he is now the vampire all others are measured against. May we have more Henry in our futures!

recently won by a certain Henry Fitzroy.

Nice to see that there're still enough people with good taste out there... ^_^

Seriously, Henry is my favourite vampire. I love the character's sense of humour and the ironic. He's very 'human' without loosing the frightening and supernatural qualities. And I like the English royality background, it's simply a great idea to make him Henry VIII's bastard.
I prefer the character as written in the book, but I ususally do when I compare a book and a movie/series based on the book. Anyway, I liked what I saw in the series too.

I swear, I was not the one stuffing the ballot.

Although I would have if I'd thought of it.

I cracked up at how many people were doing that! Fandom craziness has its headdesky moments, but it also provides the best grins...
