I iz going to where?

So having mentioned that I'm not going to Megacon, I thought it might possibly be useful to someone if I mentioned what conventions I actually am going to be guesting at this year. Which means I needed to do some research as I've got an appalling tendency to be the clichéd absent minded writer type concerning dates. (note to people running ( Read more... )

There's a science-fiction convention in Toronto in July? Hmmmm. I wrote off Ad Astra when I saw it was the week before FilkONtario and decided I just couldn't drive the 401 two weekends in a row. But July; that's definitely a possibility.

Context -- I haven't been there in years. It's time I went back. It's only my hometown, after all.

Technically, it's a media con. But's it's gone very general interest these last few years. Good panels and good panel participation.

Yay! I didn't know Denvention was on your schedule. Since I wasn't going to FKO this year I thought I wouldn't see you this year.

Happy!

If I get to go to Worldcon (still playing Scheduling Tetris with my summer), I want to kidnap you to Casa Bonita. But I'll settle for you just going. ;-) Yes, it's the place from the South Park episode. Yes, it's really like that. No, the food isn't stellar, but it's more than edible, and so not the point anyway.

Last time I told someone who was in Denver for a conference to go there, I nearly had a heart attack because he was told it was closed. Turns out it was just for renovations, so I'm dying to see it now. I went for the first time with day camp when I was 10, and from then on it was a must for out-of-town company.

Hee!! That was always the place where we kids would beg to go when the family went to Denver for somethingorother. Heh. Our parents bought plastic glasses in various colors at the gift shop, and for the longest time, my glass was the red Casa Bonita one. *L*

Can we make inappropriate comments about attractive young men while we're there? 'Cause that's kind of on my schedual for the trip. *g*

De rigueur as far as I'm concerned. They alway seem to have plenty of 'em on staff. Not even counting the cliff divers. Who, um. Guh.

The contracts are the Polaris guest contracts, nothing to do with tv. Sorry. *g*
