Oh, I wish I were going -- it's suddenly not in my budget. Vet bills + car repairs + waterbed repairs = Blade being skint, stoney, and of bankrupt trews. 8P

I took a look at the web site, and I have a question about your mysterious Canadian existence -- what the heck is a "Public Lending Rights check"?

Essentially, a PLR check is money received to make up for royalties lost when people take your books out of libraries instead of buying them.

And what about the royalties gained when people who discover your books in the library and that leads them to start buying them for themselves? I strongly disagree with the idea that libraries do a disservice to authors for which they must be compensated. It's too close to the idea that we should stop wasting all that money on having libraries at all. I learned to love reading thanks to libraries, and now I have a house full of books ( ... )
