::This was the last stop, Ashton had said. He said it was going to be hard, but Jamie figured it couldn't be any worse than what had already happened. In that other realm --whatever the hell it was-- he had finally been outmatched, beaten at his own game. He wouldn't let it rest with just that, though, and used whatever he could to crash that warship into the building. Maybe that was the only thing that gave him another shot at fate, another shot at living. Walking away from the man who inevitably killed him and forward, Jamie glanced over his shoulder to question or quip to Ashton, but the younger man was gone inside that instant. Some things are meant to be done alone. Giving away a large chunk of his wealth, helping strangers and confronting the man that killed him were all difficult, so what could possibly be worse? He took a step forward, his entire being still feeling like pins and needles all over -- tingly, as if it had all fallen to sleep. There was nothing but blackness now, but it wasn't a darkness. No, it was simply black, void -- nothing was there. Jamie took one step, then another before turning the other way. His steps quickened, both brows arched high.:: "Ashton...?" ::At the sound of the voice, the blackness was illuminated by a bright red light. Jamie quickly spun around again and his mouth parted vaguely at the sight. A small carnival had appeared out of nowhere -- the overhead lights red tinted as they are in red light districts across the world. A wooden rollercoaster was the highest point, though the track wasn't finished. It simply cut off towards the end of the hill. The cottoncandy machine overflowed with blood and the carnival music was off-key. There was a flash of electricty from a broken bumper car, the uneven tent of a carousel was tagged by graffiti. Aside from the off-beat music, though, there wasn't a sound. Nobody was there, it seemed. Figuring this could be nothing else but the last test that Ashton had mentioned, he started forward and through the midway. Signs were falling apart; termites were eating away at the wooden stands. He stared up at the looming rollercoaster, the clicking of an empty cart starting up the tracks could be heard.:: "...Anybody?"
