I heard this song on the radio back in early fall, while driving to work. I fell in love with it immediately. I hadn't heard Florence and the Machine before. To me, their sound is reminiscent of Kate Bush, with her over-the-top emotion and theatricality. That kind of thing blends nicely with my own sometimes over-the-top emotion and

Seriously, this episode had me hiccuping back sobs.
What's particularly moving about the scene linked above is the line where Ellen tells the boys to "kick it in the ass." That was the favorite line of the show's finest director, Kim Manners. A veteran not only of SPN, but of The X-Files, Kim died one year ago today. He remains terribly missed.

I know I'm being the biggest of all pariahs here, but if I only liked the leads better. They're what's keeping me from fanning. But wow. Just wow. Thanks so much for that. What a scene!!

You've captured Ellen and Jo's sacrifice and sacrifices so well. This song will now always belong to Jo and Ellen. You've made it theirs. (Oh and I love that new clip of Jo tied to the post... that whole section really brings home the sacrifice angle so beautifully).
Thanks so much for letting me have a sneak peek. Terrific work.
*hugs*

I discovered Florence + The Machine over the summer and instantly fell in love. the music is absolutely phenominal.
and the fact that you paired it up with the Harvelles is genius.
I've always loved them since s2, and when I found out they were coming back this season, I flipped my shit...
so when they died I cried my eyes out. like the whole mascara running, raccoon eye thing. I was a friggen mess (I haven't cried that much for an spn scene since Dean talking to Sam's dead body in AHBL II)
but anyways, amazing job, and great editing, esp. since there weren't many scenes to use.
adding to faves. ♥
