My sis pulled out about 45 minutes ago on the Super Shuttle, heading home to Chicago. We had a great time while she was here, and I'll really miss her now that she's gone.

Sounds like you ahd a good Thanksgiving, I'm delighted - and I'm glad sis was able to drink the cocktails in your place:-))

And congrats on the vids!! Thoroughly deserved, hon.

Now you just bask and take it easy for the rest of this weekend. Funnily enough, we will be heading out for Thanksgiving with friends from the base tomorrow. They collect up stranded Americans far from home and very graciously let us gate crash.

Oh, that sounds like fun--Thanksgiving on the base!

Thanksgiving is actually my fav holiday. It's fun to have everyone putzing around the kitchen doing chores and giving each other grief, sipping wine and watching football. I was kind of bummed to have missed the family get-together this year. But it was great having K here and my neighbors couldn't have been more welcoming.

Enjoy your Turkey Day (Heh...get it? Turkey Day?) tomorrow.

We all overdid it yesterday, one way or another ;-) Take it easy now and let your body mend. Then? Look out, ocoktails!

Congrats on the vid mentions. Well-earned :-)

I'm not a huge drinker. But I'll admit a certain weakness for ridiculously expensive, complicated to make cocktails. If a restaurant has a specialty drink list, I know I'm going to love it, regardless of the food. :-)

Oh, I get you entirely. i'm not much of a drinker, myself, even though I often joke that I do, and lavishly. Cocktails can be beautiful works of culinary (yes, culinary) art. Everything from the glassware to the lighting is part of the experience. What are your favorites? Allow me to take irtual pleasure in your descriptions ;-)

My default cocktail is a Sidecar - a marvelous WWI vintage cocktail created in Paris to celebrate those who rode along with the motorcycle brigades--cointreau (or triple sec--depends on the recipe), cognac and lemon juice, shaken in an ice-filled shaker and served up in a martini glass with a sugar rim.

God, I love those. And they pack quite a punch.

Lately, though, I've had some ridiculously good pomegranate martinis.

I once had a delicious blueberry martini that was blueberry vodka, lemoncello and had whole blueberries at the bottom of the glass.

Recently, I tried The Aviation which is gin, lemon juice, maraschino liquer and creme de violette. Very exotic and very good!

Now I'm thirsty! ;-)

So, laughing's not a good idea and you watched Love Actually? Lifetime really must have cut it to shreds. *G*

I'm so sorry to hear that you're still so sore but I am glad that you've got out and about a bit as a change of scenery is a good thing too and yeah to comfort food, afterall that's what Thanksgiving food is too.

I hope you get some rest this weekend and that you continue to feel better and stronger. ♥ I'm sure getting those staples out will help.

Congrats to on the awards that's lovely.

Love Actually wasn't even the worst of it. The Office just about killed me. I hadn't seen Jim and Pam's wedding and was squirming in pain at the hilarity that ensued.

Thanks, hon, for the good wishes. Right back at'cha!

That's awesome! Congratulations on your awards, honey - they are well earned, and it's always nice to get positive feedback on the things we do in fandom, you're perfectly justified in being excited!

I'm glad to hear you're doing well enough to be having a good Thanksgiving - the healing part will be over before you know it. :)

I was just surprised more than anything I think because I was toddling around my house just fine. But when I actually had some distance to cover (a piddly half-block!), I suddenly realized--hey, I hurt.

Apparently, I'm a bit slow. ;-)

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!! Enjoy.
