Party On, Garth! (spoilers and more)

Apr 01, 2012 00:09

I wasn't sure what to expect with this week's Supernatural.  I'd figured it would be filler after last week's angst fest.  And while there were elements of that, there was some good fun as well as some moments that tugged on your heart.  That, for me, was what made Party On, Garth a winner.

So I had trouble with the case dynamics, too. It's like there were big chunks of information missing.

They kept talking about how she was going after the kids, but she killed the wife of the one owner rather than his daughter.

I'm pretty sure the dead woman was the owner's daughter (the kid was his granddaughter). He had 4 kids: 2 boys--both dead, the dead woman from the kitchen, and Tess...I think.

And then at the end, Sam/Dean/Garth only had eyes on the older daughter, but no one keeping tabs on Tess. Did I miss something?

Sam was in the bar with Tess, right? Then Dean called and said get over to the brewery because the secret son was being targeted. Or was there an extra woman that I'm getting mixed up? It was a very confusing case! I had many questions as I was going through, trying to figure out who was related to who.

Okay. The grandchild/child thing makes sense. I'd missed that.

Tess, is the little girl who told them about the Shojo, so I'm hoping she wasn't at the bar. :-) I couldn't remember the older girl's name. She is the one who opened the door to the brewery when the guys came to investigate.

OH! Sorry (what was the other daughter's name? the manager?) I think the Shojo was only going after the kids, not the grandkids, so Tess was safe. Sam had eyes on the manager, the only remaining child left, before Dean called about the secret son. That should have been all of them.

Confusing case was confusing.

See, I never worry about little things like plot continuity or anything like that... keeps me easily satisfied.

Glad you finally got to watch the episode. :-)

Hee! To quote Sheila, plot schmot. I'll admit, I'm easy to please as well, as long as the boys are together and getting along.

Was a fun and heartbreaking episode. I did think the same thing about Sam's poor head. ;)

I know, right?! The poor thing just got fixed. He needs to handle it with care.

Eh, plot schmot.. it's the drunk together angst free scenes that count..*g*

I got such a kick out of Garth. I really do hope he pops up now and again.

And yes, how I have missed Bobby - though I'm wary as this is Sera, and you know she's resurrected him to stomp all over our hearts again.

I'm sure the Bobby storyline is adding up to buckets full of angst. But it was nice to see the old coot again.

Aw, yep I agree with everything, once again. I've actually always been a fan of DJ Qualls, and when I heard he was coming onto the show, *I* squeeled and threw a party. It didn't seem like anyone else cared that much, but *I* was over here dancing my butt off cuz I kind of a little crush on that little dude. *beams* He's so quirky and cute and adorable and...I just wanna pinch his cheeks and cuddle him and...alright I'm done. ;D So yeah I love his character and hope that he never dies, but...99% sure he will eventually. Lol ( ... )

I'll confess, I felt kind of bad for Sam too. The show has been really good about giving Dean his "special friends," people he seemed to bond with more than Sam--Jo, Ellen, John (sad, but true), Bobby, Garth, Gordon, Cas (and really, all the angels). I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of them now.

Sam has had Ruby and, for a time, Meg (though she's really a kind of equal opportunity demon these days). But that's all.

Why don't people like the taller Winchester?!

Why???? ;-)

Ugh I knooooow. Not to mention, almost every girl goes after Dean or has a long meaningful last look with Dean, while poor Sammeh stands off to the side smirking. Sam did have Ruby, but they sure turned that into a BAD thing, LOL. And yeah he DID have Meg, buuuuut Dean has Meg now I guess. *squishes Sam* Poor guy. WE still loves him!
