Author's Notes: Written for j2_everafter based on Ella Enchanted. If you’re unfamiliar with that book/movie, I suggest that may be a good thing, as certain elements of this story will then come to you as a surprise.
I’d like to thank my rockin’ betas, callistosh65 and debbiel, who not only provided terrific insight and suggestions when it came to the writing of this story, but were also invariably kind when I would shoot them total word counts at the end of a long night of writing, and complain about how danged long this thing was turning out to be.
On that note-this is the first substantial fic I’ve written since last year’s challenge, which makes me very happy indeed. It appears at 18 months of age, my pooch has finally mellowed enough to let me write. Thank you, Oliver.
Thanks also to the mods for granting me the great gift of a later posting date, and for putting in the time and effort of hosting this annual challenge. It’s a lot of fun-no matter how much I may whine while doing the actual writing.
