Thanks. I'm hoping to hear that LJ and Six Apart are taking a long hard look at their communities and goals. And not just trawling the same fishing grounds of customary volunteer groups and "conventional wisdom" to understand what's going on NOW!
I never thought that LJ would last 'forever', but I think there will be definite repercussions to Strikethrough '07 - one of which may be the hastening downfall of LJ. Although I don't see everyone moving en masse, I do predict fewer fan comms created here in the future. Comms are already pruning/deleting their 'interests' - which is a major way new members become aware of the comms to begin with (other than the synergy thing). I wouldn't be surprised if comms gradually migrate to different services/forums in order to escape the residual big brother uneasiness/uncertainty

But, I agree with you on the fandom migration. It has happened a few times in the past 15 years. First it was Usenet, then Yahoo Groups, and now LiveJournal. These seem to have been the three major fannish networks. Another migration will happen, it always does.
I have to agree with you. I do hope they start paying more attention to the users and that this incident doesn’t discourage people from posting and sharing. Oh, and fandom_counts is up to 31075
