No, author of article in Star Trek collection, the fandom term for self-insert character is not "Betty-Sue". It's Mary-Sue, damnit, or in the case you're citing, Gary-Stu would be more appropriate.

My confidence levels on writing this article have just gone up 3000% because, lord!, at least I know the lingo!

So, I tested out fanlib this evening. Hmmm. Some pretty, shiny bits but a lot of annoying aspects (duplicating parts of chapters in stories it imports? using a 200x200 graphic standard for story images? *sigh*).
