On Saturday morning, Tom, Jody, Laurie and I drove down the road to a suburb of Pismo Beach named Shell Beach Shell Beach where Jody had spotted a nice looking cafe and bakery. Tempranillo/Rioja is my favourite wine - unfortunately it doesn't always travel very well. I had the best bottle of wine I've ever had sitting in Granada in the shadow of the Alhambra...and have never managed to get a rioja even close to that one outside of Spain.

Glad you seem to have had a good wine trip - I frequently tried to persuade my bosses to send me to California on a wine tasting trip when I worked for Allied Domecq (I think we had half a dozen wineries there) but never managed it :-(
