I ran the Race for the Cure 5K in downtown DC this morning, finishing the "course" in 19:42.  It is hopefully the closest in my running career I'll ever get to being in a zombie uprising.

But more on that later.

I ran the Loudoun Street Mile today -- my first road mile ever -- finishing in a time of 5:30.6 (they do decimals for these things).  That was good enough for 16th overall and 2nd in my age group.  It was also a 18 second PR over my track mile PR from last summer (which is, in fairness, the only mile I had ever raced before today).  So yay.

I ran the Broad Street 10 Miler this morning, finishing in 65:36, which was good enough for 5th in my age group.  So that was nice.

I'm actually a bit ambivalent about the time (I concede that "a bit ambivalent" is duplicative).  I ran 65:31 at Cherry Blossom last month, and Broad Street is a faster course, so I had some hopes of beating that time ( Read more... )
