I ran the Kentlands 5K today, finishing in 19:10 gun time, which was a PR and good enough for the age group win, so yay.

I ran the Reston Firecracker 5K this morning, finishing in a time of 19:20 by my watch (19:22 gun - I started back in the pack).  This was good enough for 11th overall female and 2nd in my age group in a very competitive field (5th and 7th went to pro runners Samia Akbar and Nikeya Green, to give some context).

I ran the Race for the Cure 5K in downtown DC this morning, finishing the "course" in 19:42.  It is hopefully the closest in my running career I'll ever get to being in a zombie uprising.

I ran the St. Charles Running Festival 5K today, finishing in a time of 19:15 for a 15 second 5K PR and the overall female win. It was a fun day.

I ran the “Have a Heart for Hoffman Boston Elementary School 5K” (Whew…that’s a mouthful) today, finishing in 19:43 (by my watch - gun time was slower, since I started back in the pack and there was no chip timing). I ran the Komen Race For the Cure 5K this morning, finishing in a time of 20:11. The time itself ain’t impressive, but I’m decently happy with how I paced the race, and this is also one of the best races I’ve run in the summer (I’m notorious for handling heat badly, to the point where I had sworn off of racing in temps higher than 60 degrees). I ran the Run for the Schools “5K” in Falls Church, Va. [course is here]

I put 5K in quotes because the course was mis-marked, and was actually 3.25 miles. I blew up pretty badly, but still ran 20:50, which is equivalent to a 19:55 5K - it’s hard to be upset when you can deathmarch a race, and still be not far off of your 5K PR pace.
