Haha, you know, at first I couldn't think of a good prompt and had decided to just let the rest of your flist have a go at the AR challenge. But in support of the greater cause of Procrastination, I started reading through the archives of Naphy-journal and came across your old AR rec wherein you stated that you were sad that the conclusion of LoTR got rid of much of her greatness. And so, taking into account the bit of a crush Eowyn had on Aragorn, I was kind of hoping you would stick her in here somehow, and so you did.

I loved it. It all makes such canon-sense, even though it's not canon. My favorite part is probably the line about the people never forgiving her for saving them, because, oh, people are so messed up, they would do that.

Oh, and emo-Aragorn makes me simultaneously wince and laugh. I'm betting there's some fic out there where he exists though, and for no apparent reason, considering the HP badfic I've been shown where the 'Golden Trio' turns suicidal because they had a "bad summer".

You are utterly wicked and amazing because this has been one of the major AR ideas that I've had floating around my head for a very, very long time and I'm amazed at your psychic ability to deduce that from my comments. Of course, something like this really deserves a full-length story. And, as indicated here, I honestly don't know if it would have been a happier ending for Eowyn to be Queen in the shadow of Arwen. But the trade would have been her standing as a stronger person, in my mind. It's all about balance :)

Thank-you! As I mentioned, you managed to hit something I've been thinking about for a very, very long time so I'm delighted that it rings true to canon, even though it's diverged so widely.

*hints, in a not-so-subtle fashion*

And I'm glad you took time to write this and the response to my comment, and that you liked the prompt. This fic makes my life better. ^^
