Shige's newest thing was photography. He liked to mess with colors and lines, He was fascinated with shadow and light. He liked the city for it's shapes--all the shadows cast by girders, glass, and concrete. He like the mountains for the way the sun looked falling dappled on trees and temples. He liked the ocean because of its constant motion and because it never quite looked the same from shot to shot. All his favourite shots were of the ocean. But if Shige was honest with himself, he would have to admit that he liked the ocean best not because of lines or color, light or shadow, but because he could con Yamapi into going with him and take his picture coming out of the waves.
