Countdown was a logistic nightmare. Countdown backstage was enough to send even the most well-adjusted screaming into the night. The halls were treacherous with costumes, musical instruments, massive electronic equipment, and even the occasional junior flying out of doorways without notice. Not to mention the pins and scissors, feathers and glitter constantly being pushed onto your body for no apparent reason. I also love the idea of juniors flying out of doorways without notice. of course, in my head, they have wings (and attack motherbird defending territory style), but. it's still a funny mental image.
Do Not Disturb...who the hell would ever think that makes sense backstage? not just Pi, but. people would totally open the door just to see what was inside ( ... )

That is not the term for it! Deus ex machina is when a god drops in at the end of a play and fixes all the problems. The method you're espousing is called dramatic license or convenience. And yeah, it's a wonderful thing, but I still seem to be incapable of doing it.

hahahahaha I love it! I'm going to have to use that in a conversation someday (whereby having to explain it to Moose, who will then use it back on me).
Speaking of Moose, he was talking with a Chinese friend of his, and he (Moose) ended up using/explaining the word yakuza to his friend. The friend then looked at him and said, "How do you know this when I don't even know this! I'm the Asian here!" I told Moose that it's not like he's Japanese or anything. Allowances can be made. yes. the phrase itself is 'the monkeys instinctively know' and then you can taylor your response (these are fierce beasts vs we can win!) based upon the situation.
For me, it's a mental image. a stillframe. no fic.
to clarify, if you pull commentfic, it has to have been reposted in an entry (and not a comment to an entry), or i had to have linked to the original comment in an entry in anamuan. And then anything posted to hizashikage is game.

no. see, that is called 'progress' not 'tiny.' 978 is longer than most everything I've ever written ever. And only 22 words short of most challenge fic entries. it's a full fic yo. it can make friends with the other things on the journal.
