i am functionally illiterate

in japanese. it is very frustrating.

this is really cool yo. i. don't even know how to describe it. i don't know enough about dance, but. it's amazing. their movements are so clean.

last p&p recitation today. we did stress. *resists making bad linguistics joke about stress and stress*
but it was a good time, with good people. According to Anastasia, we know we're graduate students when suddenly skipping stopped being an option. Also, Kirsten gave us candy. <3
I am going to miss those people.

My thesis was approved by my reader and accepted by the Graduate School, so yay! (it's not really a surprise, because i can't imagine the grad school not accepting it once it's been approved, but. It's nice to have it all official and the paperwork done).

Anyone ever wonder how people negotiate who to work with in in-class projects?

Lunch with Jinsok and Hirono at Bangkok this time. we split calimari, bangkok's fried rice (pork), and drunken noodles (beef). oishikatta.
soshite last language table of the year ever, for me and i got me an ice mocha. there wasn't a huge number of people, but they weren't sukunai either. I think it was a good number.

There are no scabs in autosegmental phonology. (if you understand this comment (and can demonstrate to me that understanding), you get a fic of your choice, mostly for being a kindred spirit).

I think Debby was pleased with me (twice) today. First, my presenation went really well (ok, so that was last, but). And also, she used my example for the public discourse we went through. Specifically, she looked at my coding of the markers of time, which I'd kind of decided to do just on my own, so i was happy.

i think i might be on my own for dinner tonight. last night, i was too. I had: a little bag of potato chips, 2 pieces of pomulo, and a scrambled egg with shredded chicken and cheese in.

I've just finished my last phonology assignment ever. Someone needs to get on that phonology puzzle book for the general public. It'll be the next sudoku.

I finally wrote my host family back. I am such a bad child (host or otherwise)

Debby: If you were to map this data in a different way, like in a graph or a chart, it would look different.
(Nikki resists urge to say 'well, duh.'

Shige/rain (don't worry too hard) also, while i'm pimping things cynicalism has written me, T___T. It's been a nice couple of days.

Rob: If you do have a degenerate foot, you have stress on it.

Well. I've got a framework in Du Bois. Now i just have to read it to find out what it is. I think i will make my presen tomorrow based on that too, because it would be good and make sense.

Akamepi just doesn't roll off the tongue. It has too many syllables XDDD

eta: I LOVE YOU ALL FOR THE MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF SQUEE ON MY FLIST. <3 sunshine in my life.

eta 2: Nakamaru/Massu (gen) Written by the ever-lovely cynicalism. I am not biased by this sudden influx of fic for me at all, no.
