speaking as a virgo and a wife and mom, if there isn't a delicates setting on the machine, then you need to handwash them. Or you could try putting them in a mesh lingerie bag I guess.

It's not so bad if you have a basin or a spare sink, you can just put a bunch in and run water and add some kind of liquid soap that smells nice (I used to use shampoo or body wash or dishwashing detergent or dr bronner stuff) and then kind of froth it up (put the soap in first and let the water run) and then soak them for a while while you do other things, and then rinse a few times (try the bathtub) and then hang them to try on one of those clippy things. The whole point is don't do any agitation yourself, or as little as possible, let the soaking do the work. And don't have a husband who, if he finds them in the sink when he wants to brush his teeth, tosses them in the tub. ALthough in the end I adapted my method just to do the whoel thing in the bathtub, though it required more bending (ewww).

Thank you! I guess I don't really have much choice, but letting them soak wouldn't be so bad, I guess. I'd also be able to stop worrying about the bra hooks catching on my stockings.
