was pretty awesome. it was indeed graphic and deserves it's NC-17 rating. But it is totally worth seeing. In the theater. For full price. (there are like, 2 movies I've ever seen I'd say this of ( Read more... )

I wanna see, but I have a feeling it'd be like seeing 2046 in the theater alone and that was pretty graphic, though it managed an R-rating. ;)

I'd totally go AP!English on it for you. It's like the time we watched Tokyo Tower and you didn't get it and when I started in on it, you were like, "I don't watch movies to think," or something along those lines. *laughs*

it's not...nanto ittara ii kana...a movie I would feel comfortable watching with my mother. Though it is a movie I would feel comfortable recommending to my mother.

It totally is. Therefore you need to watch it, so you can tell me what I missed.

I was just pondering that Tokyo Tower!incident and I think it's funny that you say, "I don't watch movies to think," and yet, you don't mind analyzing other forms of media and/or reading stuff where I have. *giggle*

Well, to be honest, I've never liked analyzing stories/books either. They're kind of like movies--I read/watch them for enjoyment and pretty much just enjoyment. In many ways, I'm a form over substance kind of girl when it comes to my media. Not all, but many. I am willing to read absolute drivel if it's presented to me in a pretty enough package.

I'm not entirely sure which forms of media you're referring to specifically right now, because it is 1:26, I'm exhausted, i have a headache and i keep telling myself 'i reall am getting offline now' and then not, but I'm going to assume there is some kind of lx bent implied?
I would say that probably there's a difference in kind in the different things the two of us like to analyze. And for me, movies and things like that, there's a certain element of 'well, how can you be sure the producer meant anything of the sort?'

Hmm, sounds right up my alley. Only not at all.

Btw, the lipstick is indicative of putting on another persona. That's always what lipstick means. Then, as it gets worn off as the evening progresses, she's getting closer to revealing her true self.

What's the other movie? I hope it's in better taste than this one, yo. ;-) My guess is Finding Neverland.

The other movie is actually not Finding Neverland; it's one called Saving Face, and I didn't even see it in theaters. Something tells me it's not really quite up your alley either, though not .... quite as extremely as parts of this one.

Why does lipstick mean that? (I expect you to explain everything to me)
She always left lipstick rings on cups. That's all. But it happened so often with just that kind of camera attention that you knew it was important. The lipstick on her face was never messed up, and, well, they didn't exactly have the kind of lipstick that didn't rub off back in the 40's, but.
