Tonight we had a retirement party for Sandy Walsh, who started at ADI as a temp in 1980. She was the secretary for a whole department of engineers, many of whom were fresh out of college like I was. Sandy was our den mother, girlfriend, and confidante, she kept all of us in line, and she kept the department running. We'll miss you Sandy. Enjoy your

I woke up this morning and realized that for the first time in about two months I didn't have to worry about whether or not the painter was going to show up. What a relief! All I have to do now is put back all of the pictures and knick-knacks, have the hardwood floors refinished, get some new carpet installed... I guess that it never really ends.

Today Tony and I went to see the Providence Bruins play the Worcester Ice Cats. The Cats went up 2-0, the B's tied it, but then gave up the winning goal with less than a minute left :-( The game was exciting, though, with lots of action and lots of fights. Today G-ray and I went to see Big Fish. It's the story of a father who tells tall tales about a fascinating life, and his estranged son, who never believed a word. The father is dying, and the son, who is about to become a father himself, is desperately trying to get to know him before it's too late. My new Club Med friends (Darren, Peggy, Phyllis, and Sue) and I had dinner at Jake's Dixie BBQ in Waltham last night. It was just like Cancun, except that it was about 80 degrees colder, we had to pay for our food and drinks, and there was no singing and dancing after dinner.
