1. When did you get your first cell phone? Either 2003 or 2004 -- I can't remember precisely. My husband brought it home (along with one for himself), handed it to me and said "Welcome to the 20th Century." (Yes, he knew it was the 21st Century.)

I'm really surprised you don't have a smartphone.

I was a smartphone holdout for a very long time, but you know what? I love mine.

When the time comes that I have my own cell phone plan, I may break down and get one; I'd probably love one too, once I had it. I just don't want to turn into one of those people who is always hunched over her phone, constantly fielding text messages and checking her email. I'm addicted enough to the internet that I think it's a good thing when I step back from the computer.

Well, I love texting. But actually what I use my smartphone for the most is GPS.

I've been thinking I want a GPS, too, but I'd thought of getting a GPS unit for my car. I hadn't considered using a smartphone instead. Hmm.

*grins* I still have my original qualcoom from 1998. It is a beast. Every time I see your icon? I think it is an eyeball. I go entire weeks thinking it is an eyeball, because I don't look close enough...it is so weird.
