Yesterday morning, on my way out, I took some pictures of the remnants of Thursday's storm, because the forecast predicted that the temperatures would be going up and no doubt the ice would be melted by noontime ( Read more... )

vickita had some lovely photos of the ice in her part of Oklahoma last weekend - but she's only just got her power returned after a week.

Thank the godz, we didn't have it nearly as bad here as they did there, and even though we lost some trees, our power held and we were able to at least stay warm indoors.

The thing that's really kind of amazing is that ice in nature can be amazingly beautiful, but it's the most treacherous thing in the world to human beings....

I kind of hate that the house is there--when I first moved in, there was a field where that house is now, and I think it would have been much prettier if I didn't have the suburban domicile with the tacky Christmas light helicopter on the lawn, but it is what it is, yes?

I resent the hell out of that house--I used to harvest dried reeds and rushes and seed pods from that lot, and now it's just...human.

But you can see the ice on the branches pretty well on that one.

I love that first picture, very pretty.I have mini roses blooming on the porch.

Weather is just to strange here for me.We have 30 degrees for 2 weeks, then we get a week of high 70's, and yesterday temp drops and we have cold windy and wet.

I prefer consistent ,this is making me crazier then I already am.(I didn't think that was possible).

California is looking better every day sheshh
