How frellin' COOL is this?????

I don't know about you, but I'm not the kind of person who can lay my clothes out the night before in order to get dressed more quickly in the morning. And it isn't because I'm not organized--it's because, well, hell, even though that red sweater seemed like a good idea at 7 last night, I just might not be feeling the "red" in the morning, you know ( Read more... )

"Michelle, it appears, wants to be able to feel the love for what she wears on this most important of all days, and she won't know what looks like that love until tomorrow."

Well, that looks like one more thing you. me and Michelle Obama have in common. {;>D

I know what you mean. It feels odd to say this, because I don't trust myself to know how much is manufactured and how much real, but it feels like I can know our new First Family in a way I haven't known one before.

The whole family makes me feel so good. They are people I can relate to and it makes my heart soar!

You know, I don't think there's been much that's manufactured that we all wouldn't see through. I think that who they are is so spontaneous and so unaffected that there isn't much that's been posed.

I was watching a program last night where Pete Souza, the official photographer for the Obama family throughout the campaign and while they are in the White House, was being interviewed. What his photographs capture is the Obama that I, and probably you, believe that he is. Working, kissing his kids, interacting with Michelle and David Axelrod and folks on the road during the campaign. And most of them are candid shots--and what we're seeing, from what I can see in those photographs, is absolutely authentic.

They are private people, and while in some ways they are open and inviting, they do value their privacy as well. But I think that they've been very successful so far in finding the balance between the two. And for all their privacy, I don't see them as aloof--not in the way the Bushs were aloof ( ... )

I think she is a stunning woman and whatever she wears will be beautiful. What I am dreading and I know that it will happen somewhere and even though I will try to avoid it I will stumble upon it, is there will be SOMEONE who is catty enough to mock what she wears. I remember what they would say about Hillary and what they would say about Chelsea and it would sadden me.

However, I know she is a strong enough personality to make whatever she decides to wear gorgeous because it's not just about the clothing. She just shines! :-)

And I think I need a Michelle icon. :-)

I agree that she will look wonderful in whatever she chooses to wear. And I know that the detractors will be speaking around a mouthful of sour grapes and bitters, not to mention sheer jealousie.

I'd love to have an icon of her in that gorgeous red dress she wore to their first luncheon at the White House. {:>D
