So yeah, it snowed early early this morning, and it's supposed to snow again this afternoon, and then turn to freezing sludge overnight--and yeah, that completely doesn't work for me but oh well. A good friend of mine named her baby "Loki." I'm so confused!

Does she know who Loki is?

I won't even name a pet Loki, for fear of what it would bring into my house.

Yeah, she did her research. Her and her husband came up with this assessment of the name:

Loki is one of the most complex and fascinating characters in the Norse mythological pantheon. He was the son of two giants, who were the bitter enemies of the gods; yet the god Odin looked upon him with favor and admiration, and the two swore a blood oath together. Loki is often portrayed as a trickster or prankster, but his tricks ultimately aided the gods on many occasions. The troubles he caused were matched only by the clever ways in which he resolved them. He was a shape-shifter, and is often associated with Fire and with the forces of primal chaos in the natural world.

I think Blagojevich is, like, the political incarnation of one of the 3 Stooges, but I haven't decided on a Stooge yet. So many choices. Curly, Moe, Laryy, Shemp or that other guy? And did Joe really qualify as a Stooge?

I've gotta tell you, he may be stone crazy, but I don't think he's stupid. In fact, I think he's crazy like a fox.

He has thrown a monkey wrench into the political process, in a way that is completely legal, and is successfully exposing the absolute absurdities of the way congress runs. And he's doing it in a way that annoys the most people--but they can't touch him, no matter what kind of crazy pain in the ass he really is.

He's infuriating--but he's within the law. And where he's outside the law, he's done it in a way that is going to be very difficult to prove.
