I've been watching House a lot, lately... I'll get a DVD from Blockbuster, turn on my electric blanket, sprawl on the bed, and watch the whole DVD, usually with a cup of tea (or vodka and cola). I love that show. I'm waiting for BB to send me Season 2 disc 2.
In a superhero tabletop RPG my husband and I are in, chronovius explained that he preferred when I was there to actually play my character (see userpic). We had the realisation that Micro MedBot is basically a robotic version of House (even though she was originally crated in 2004). I'll remark on that to the GM this Saturday.
I am very sorry that you kept getting those calls.

I am not quite so nice. I flat told someone who kept calling here to get me to vote for the other guy "because God wanted me to", that I wasn't going to because I did not believe in "government by so-called Divine choice" when nut cases are deciding what God wants. Maybe they should pay more attention to what their Rice Krispies are telling them".
Yep I had a migraine that day and it was the fifth call of the day.

I was hoping that this kind of call would end when the election results came in, and that they'd all go slinking back to whatever cave they've chosen to hide in whilst rending their sackcloth and waiting for the Rapture, but no such luck.

Would have been funny to say "But Satan told me to vote for John Mccain just Yesterday."

He's the only person I know who is crankier than me.

He makes me feel like Little Mary Sunshine.

I love him desperately.

This is right up there with the 80 year old picketers outside our hospital. They march through the parking lot over and over and over. I always want to scream at them that unless they're willing to support a baby from birth to 18 years old, shut up and let the women who CAN choose make their own decisions.

My friend, John, was confronted by those types outside a building which had a Planned Parenthood inside. He stopped and listened intently to some old bag for a few minutes, with this intently interested look on his face. And then he said, "This sounds great! I just have one question..."

Old Bag says, "Yes?", oh so brightly.

He asked, "When was the last time you even had the opportunity to get pregnant, let alone the last time the possibility of it occurring even had to concern you?"

I'm sure someone had to call 911 shortly thereafter.

This is one of the reasons I have to use an answering machine to screen my calls. People who know me will speak and I will answer them.

The other sort usually doesn't even leave a message.

I really have to do something, because clearly this "Do Not Call" shit is fairly selective.

Non-profits soliciting donations (sadly, this includes political orgs) are exempt from DNC, have been from day one. What you were offered was to have your number flagged on their internal call list... something which can and likely will be ignored during the next fund-raising cycle.

My "favorite" such phone call: from Verizon -- who like any company can ignore DNC for its registered customers -- during one of many and frequent computer-dialed calls with a recorded message just for me, an option to "unsubscribe" from their call list. I dutifully pressed the correct numbers, and the call ended with "you are now on our do-not-call list, but it will take 30 days to become effective."

Gah, feh, and meh. ;-)

I know that it didn't do a lot to keep political calls off the phone before November 4, but most of the calls were from Obama, so I didn't mind them quite so much!

I still have him on my answering machine messages, in fact!
