Thank you for posting that. So many memories. I don't know whether to be sad that the song is still applicable now or grateful that we have it.

It's amazing how rousing it still is, isn't it? I hear that song, and I'm 14 again...

When I think about the things we dreamed of then, the things that we knew needed to happen, I can't help but look at this day and think it's been a long time coming--but it's coming.

You want to know what's nice for me?

When I first learned to sing that song, I was very young, and we used to sing that song at older people, as an act of defiance.

Now, I sing that song as an older person, shoulder to shoulder with young people, singing in defiance at the forces which would oppress ALL of us.

It's nice to know I didn't get too old to still feel this way.
