Just a hockey mom?

If you are thinking that Sarah Palin might not be a bad idea for the country on the basis of the fact that it would be good to have a woman as vice president, and are not yet convinced that Sarah Palin is a little more than "just a l'il ol' hockey mom", and is too incredibly insipid to be a threat...

Go here.

I especially like the commercial I just saw (again) that says she "fought Big Oil." How did that go again? Oh yeah...

Everyone in Alaska gets money from the oil companies because of the pipeline. So what did she fight them on? "You guys are making a lot of money and we demand you give more of it to us!" (Not a direct quote.)

Way to stick it to the man!

The Obama emails are sticking to the Big Lies that the ads are talking about, but to be honest, I don't think anyone cares about that.

When it comes right down to it, they'll vote for her because she's cute.

But I think Tazmanian Devils are cute, but I wouldn't vote for one.

Gotta be careful talking about not voting for a Tazmanian Devil. You might alienate the Warner Bros. cartoon fans.

none of the Christians want to talk about that, because they don't want those secular madmen, Obama and Biden, to take office

I'd suggest revising that blanket statement.

Oprah's fans are going to kick Palin's ass if she's not careful.

Anyone who's ever worked in a bookstore knows that you don't fuck with Oprah...

She may have just sealed her fate.

I tried to do a search online, and all I can find are blogs about it with a bunch of very uninformed comments crying racism on Oprah's part, and supporting boycotts of her and her sponsors. Good lord......the amount of stupidity is frightening.

I know.

I don't even remember feeling that strongly in that direction even about George Bush.

I can't get past the feeling that she's just the most dangerous thing to hit politics ever. She really makes me nervous.

I have even have a hard time making fun of her, because she scares me.

I swear to God, I can't even begin to imagine how anyone can take this woman seriously, or show her any kind of support. But the fact that she hasn't been laughed off the face of the earth makes me more nervous about my fellow Americans than anything I've experienced in 30 years.

I saw a film of her giving a speech, on Good Morning America this morning, and I swear, her first line of defense against every single thing from global warming to the price of gas is to pray over it. That's the only answer she has to take care of anything.

What I'm praying over is the idea that people will see what kind of a screwball she really is.

This may help explain why people vote Republican (and, to some extent, why they will vote for Palin): http://www.edge.org/3rd_culture/haidt08/haidt08_index.html

It's worth a read, at least.
