We used cloth diapers on Kelsey for a very short while. She developed such an awful diaper rash that would not go away. Disposables were the only option. Fourteen years ago, those giant sheets of cloth that had to be strategically folded and then pinned were the only things out there. If flannel diapers existed, I sure didn't know about them. You probably have already looked at other options, but I thought I would provide some links for you to look at just in case you haven't seen them. You can keep them for your future children ( ... )

I forgot to add that ebay is a good place to get flannel diapers for a decent price. One of the best things about using reusable diapers is the fact that you can use them for your other children. I probably already mentioned that . . .

The pocket diapers and some of the others are really cute and when I see them on other babies they don't look bulky at all, but we have no way of washing them properly and the diaper service will only wash their own prefolds, so unless we move someplace with a good washer/dryer it's the prefolds or disposables.

Oh, I didn't think about that. It sounds like the diaper service is the better option economically and environmentally.
