one of my few conolations at work is my view. Most of the cubicles at my workplace have the low waist-high walls, except of course for the people near the windows who have high walls, blocking everyone else's view out the windows

It sounds like a stunning view.

Is there any way to ask the colleague sitting there if they can just move the damned thing somewhere else on their desk? You can do it without whining; it's a reasonable enough favor to ask, and they'll probably be sympathetic. (May not be possible, but at least you'll have tried.)

The thing is enormous and the cubicles are small. there is no where else that she could put it, and even if there were it would still obstruct my view. We're talking about 24"x36"x12" box in a 6'x6' cubicle. With a computer. And a person.
