I just watched Moon and am now terribly depressed. Not that it was bad--I enjoyed it, even though I was horribly spoiled (they lied! They said it wasn't a big spoiler but it was the entire point of the movie wtf)--it was just not cheerful. The only thing I really didn't like was that at the sad parts they played Sad Music, which seemed overly ( Read more... )

Seeker's all about the crack. :D I haven't missed an episode since it started airing, even though, imo, S2 hasn't been anywhere near as catchy, plot-wise, as S1-- and it's not because the writing and acting are brilliant (they're reeeeally not, lol). It's all about the fight scenes, the fun, and the fanservice.

And the cleavage. ;)

I feel like I could do with a cracky show right about now. It's summer!

And yeah, you can tell from the beginning of ep 1 that they're heavy on the fanservice. NOT THAT I MIND AT ALL : D

Yes, it's PERFECT summer viewing. :D And if you think the fanservice is heavy now... hooboy! :D All I'll say is that they're in touch with the fandom, lolz.

Moon is good for that. But think of the ending! There is hope! I would agree that it wasn't a big spoiler despite being the whole plot of the movie, because *its the whole plot of the movie*. It was revealed in one of the trailers and was pretty widely known (erm maybe when the film was originally coming out, not so much now?)

so, depressing yes, but beautiful? yes!

Whoa, they revealed it in the trailers? Argh. I think they show way too much in trailers a lot of the time. If they were going to do that, why did they build up so much to that first big reveal?

And I am torn about the ending. Because yes, there's hope, but logistically it doesn't seem like there should. He gets in the shuttle, which probably has a pre-programmed flight path to take him right back to the company's shipyard, and they would never let him live. And even if that weren't the case, the chances of him finding another place to land, not getting shot out of the sky, finding people who believe him . . . maybe I'm just a cynic ; )

Definitely beautiful! It was amazing how much they did with such limited sets.

True, I thought that for a bit, but I like to think he managed to survive. Maybe the people who open the transports don't know about the situation, and will be like 'oh we gotta get this dude some medical help!' and rescue him. or something. It's been a while since I watched it, but wasn't there radio chatter during the credits or at the end or whatever about his situation? I'm also pretty sure there is a sequel either in the works or has been discussed, that is about the stuff after it. Could be misremembering though.

Yup, at the end they say that he is testifying against the company. So canonically, it's a hopeful ending, though I had trouble finding it plausible : /

Hmm, a sequel would be interesting. I wonder if the original knows what went on? And even if he did, that underground chamber is seriously creepy.

Moon was great, wasn't it? It totally threw me into a two-day funk of depression. Ouch. I do agree about the Sad Music™ though - nothing bugs me as much as a heavy-handed soundtrack. Thankfully the film was awesome enough to overcome it.
