Aw, I'm sorry you're having to get glasses for the first time. :( But now you can join the Cool People Who Wear Glasses Club! :D (I'll show you the secret handshake later.)

I sometimes need to limit my time on the computer to control hand and wrist pain, and I'll do an hour of computer stuff followed by an hour of anything at all that isn't on the computer. I'm actually more focused during the times I'm on the computer if my time is limited. I have just as much fun, but I feel more productive. That might me a useful trick for you.

...Aaaaand that was all about me. Sorry. :( I'm glad you're around and doing okay. :D *hug*

:D That's what Jess said to me on facebook, yay for the cool people club!! :)

I have a wrist rest at work so it's pretty much only my eyes that suffer. It annoys me that all my hobbies are close up: simming, reading, writing, playing keyboard, sewing, watching films... I need to take up dancing and country walking again and get out of the house!

Your idea is a good one, I used to do it with uni work, but as work is a constant computer-facing slog, I've got used to cramming my computer time, and should get out of that habit. Breaks are always a good thing. *nods*

*hugs* Thank you. :)

*hugs* I hope things stay as they are now Amy. I have to go for my two year check next week and I'm sure I will need stronger reading glasses. I think my optometrist said screen time has nothing to do with it-so I hope not. I do spend quite a bit of time at the computer one way or another.

I knew I'd need glasses with all the close up work I do with all my work and hobbies, so it looks like I need a change to give my eyes a rest. Hopefully I can find a dancing club and I also hope the weather will improve soon so I can go walking. :)

If you need reading glasses your computer time shouldn't affect them I don't think. My eyes struggle re-focusing on things further away because I'm always looking at screens and books, so my eyes are opposite to yours. Hope it goes ok for you. *hugs*

Good luck, Amylu! My job was in front of the computer all day, then I'd write or visit forums during lunch, then get home, make dinner, and get right back to it. My hobbies are all the same as yours, so my eyes are shot too. No easy way arround it except to take breaks and expand into other hobbies, like was mentioned above. Take care of your eyes - your friends and fans will wait. ")

*hugs* Thanks Jilly. :)

Yeah, that sounds a lot like my day. And I always want to relax and treat myself when I get home from work, which usually means either reading or simming.

At least the weather's improving now, so I can get outdoors more, especially at weekends. :D
