Mostly because I tend to pick up a million mistakes I made and/or ways that could make it better and it's at the pointless to edit it yet again (even if I wanted to) part of the process.
Yeah snow days are fun...though I do feel a bit guilty...not much but a little.
You might be pleasantly surprised if you read it over. I read my stuff over sometimes and yeah, there are bits I'd like to change, but overall, I'm usually pretty pleased, and I think you would be too if you read Corazon. It's a fabulous story.
I have reread bits of it since I wrote it and I did think it stood up at the time but I'm still a little nervous about it. I just get such a block when I think about the story given some of the hair-pulling times it produced from me.
Once again, braintwins, Caro, braintwins. I was trying to think of something to say to Amy about how I cringe too while reading my old stuff, not that I necessary hate it, but there are always a ton of things I'd like to have changed at the time because I've grown as a writer and my styles have changed. You put it just the way I was thinking in my head, but didn't know how to spit out into a comment. If you *don't* change over time, or feel that way about your work it is just like treading water. You're stuck in that same place doing the same thing over and over.
It's good to grow! (this comment brought to you by Sesame Street and the letter G!)
Anyway, I'll just shut-up now and point at your comment and holler, "THIS!" :)
Agreed. Obviously the Bradley brain needs to be in full use at all times while the intelligent brain stays in the jar. Insightful thought? Witty comments? Pfft. Never mind that, shirtless Bradley with his sex-scratched chest is on telly. Shhh! Must watch.
;)
Exactly, we're so very focused as it is on the characters/subject matter already that you absolutely *need* to try different styles or look at the subject matter in a different way otherwise you're on this infinite loop of boring writing. Although, when you try new things you get people that make dumbass comments about, "OMG! No quotation marks! Woe! Write me b-day fic, slash monkey! Write!" Not that I'm still bitter about that... ;)

As Jackie says, Corazon was brilliant and maybe rereading it makes the muses wake up to the lotr boys again. :)

Thank you...I don't know it just might make me frustrated because they're not speaking to me. But I might give it a go.

Giving it a go is always a good start. :)
