Hardest thing ever

Through 40 plus years, I have done a lot of difficult things, but none compares to the phone call I had to make yesterday. I had to call my Mom, who was visiting family out of state, and tell her to come home because I walked into their house and found my father dead. To have to tell my Mom that broke my heart. I then spent the next four and a half ( Read more... )

Wonderful first chapter, but it was somewhat overshadowed by your devastating news...OMG, my heart goes out to you! Having had to call my sister to tell her that mum had died, I kinda know how you feel....she had been dying of an in curable disease, so it was kind of expected, but it didn't make the call any easier.....

Thanks! We'd kind of expected it cause mom was hesitant about going. He'd had mini strokes over the last 12 months but it doesn't make it any easier.
PS- you said you have all my stories in Kindle. Did you get them from my site and have you been able to open them? Had another user that said they couldn't open them.

Yes, I got them from your site, and they open fine. I have a kindle app on my iPad, though I'm not sure whether that would make a difference, unless they are running an older version of the kindle software....
Bless him...my grandfather had a few strokes, but he also had Parkinson's, so his speech was effected badly anyway. I'm sure your poor mum is wracked with guilt for going, bless her....hard times...but they do get easier, I promise.

Thank you. I appreciate the kind thoughts. This has not been an easy week. It really helps to know other people care and are praying for us.

I am so sorry for your loss, hon, and for the way it happened. Expected or unexpected, losing someone you love is never easy. My own dad passed away almost 10 years ago, when I was 24. We knew it was coming, and I was lucky enough to be able to spend what turned out to be his last day with him, but it was still hard getting the phone call a few hours later. I hope you know how much you are loved and appreciated, and I will definitely be sending you and your family my prayers. *big hugs*
