Welcome back to the rave! I am one of your loathed techno people! Ha. They do forest parties here too but I have not yet been able to go. I also just worry that several days and nights in a row of non-stop raving and all the associated drug shenanigans might make me feel trapped. That said, I always smile when I see my friends' pictures from the parties.
No rain, thank goodness! The south of Taiwan is dryer than the north, and it's also ostensibly dry season at the moment, so it's the best chance we got of not sleeping in a puddle

As someone who can't tell one form of electronic dance music from the other, I still find your account of the festival super appealing. The photos look gorgeous too. The location, mountains, pineapple farms, paragliders overhead, sounds exactly like where I was doing a workaway at a pineapple farm. Though I was at Luye, way over towards the East coast from Kaohsiung. I went paragliding and it's just as awesome as you'd imagine!
'the taxi driver who had a karaoke machine in his car' - This took me back. We (a bunch of workawayers) had a taxi driver with a karaoke machine in his cab who gave us a lift from Tainan, though we were all too shattered to give it a go. I thought it was a one off. I didn't know it was a thing in Taiwan!

You look so happy. Sounds like it didn't rain?
