Your Star Trek experience was very similar to mine. I have gone back and watched all the earlier series and was surprised at how well they held up overall (even elements of the very first one which was downright cartoonish in many ways). I am enjoying Brave New Worlds because it has the episodic feel of the earlier shows.

I've really been on the fence with Strange New Worlds. It does seem to be attempting a more episodic approch, but you can feel the tension of modern-style television pulling at even their best efforts to do standalone pieces

Was it typhoon Khanun that was meant to skirt north of Taipei? I'm looking on a storm tracker website and it did the weirdest sharpest turn and headed back east over the ocean. Then it headed north and is now almost on top of Busan. Currently lots of rain but it doesn't feel too severe as winds go. Probably not enough to get school cancelled.

It sure was! It took such a strange path. When i read the other day that Korea was preparing to get hit i thought it surely had to be another typhoon, but nope, just a big zig-zag.
