Your Star Trek experience was very similar to mine. I have gone back and watched all the earlier series and was surprised at how well they held up overall (even elements of the very first one which was downright cartoonish in many ways). I am enjoying Brave New Worlds because it has the episodic feel of the earlier shows.

I've really been on the fence with Strange New Worlds. It does seem to be attempting a more episodic approch, but you can feel the tension of modern-style television pulling at even their best efforts to do standalone pieces

I am not sure where it is airing in Canada now, perhaps Crave

Prodigy seems to be available on.Crave but Lower Decks is only on Paramount so I’m good with watching a kid show for a while. I have only vaguely heard of The Orville so I’ll see if I can find that.
