It does and it doesn't. I have been looking at accommodation here and people are renting tents - fucking tents! - for $1500 a month and up. The kind of money i have in my bank now will get you a mobile home in a small town in Canada, and then you still need a car to get anywhere. So, thinking about what you can get for the money, it's not a lot of money. But also, thinking about the fact that half the country has even less money than this really drives home the issue of housing unaffordability.
Your feelings about money are so hard for me to wrap my mind around. I grew up poor, and am still a working class person. I'm sure I could come up with something deeper to say, but my mind is weary after working nine hours today. I'm lucky if my fingers hit the right key in the keyboard.
