So, I totally understand if you just don't like answering nosy questions about this topic, but, hey....since you posted this freely, I'm gonna go ahead and ask. Feel free to ignore. I'm curious.....since you had the surgery years ago....at that time, was it hard to find a physician who could perform it, and/or, was willing? Or was that part not complicated?
It wasn't too difficult for me back in 2000. I lived in Australia at the time, and there were three surgeons in the country that did the op. You had to pay for it yourself, because the Australian "Medicare for all" didn't cover it. The biggest challenge was getting the psychiatrists' letters to approve you. You needed to show that you weren't a nutjob and that you had been taking female hormones and living as a woman for some period of time (changed name etc
( ... )
I've heard similar (I think) from a chum who is f2m. Last I heard, he'd stopped his hormone treatment and settled into just being himself. People are crappy to him about it fairly regularly, but he no longer gives a shit and good on him for that! There is a bit of a attitude in some quarters that you have to fit perfectly into your new chosen box, that is, being all out in the female box or all in the male box or you're a bad trans. It gets on my tits, personally, I just want to be me and not shoved into any box, so why should transfolk be forced into boxes either? It's always other people doing the shoving, or the cultural tide that drowns you. I've had enough of that bullshit, ever since I was old enough to object at being expected to wear pink.
I can wear pink now, and blue. Whatever I fucking want it's my choice, but it's taken years to get there.
I think becoming comfortable with not fitting into a box is also just part of getting older. I am not a huge fan of getting "old" in that hangovers are much worse, and when i injure myself it takes far longer to recover than it used to, but learning to not give a fuck (like, legit not give a fuck, not teenage "not give a fuck") almost balances out the downsides.
I have so many feels about this post, but I kinda wanna wait in the hope that one day we can meet and drink and talk about this and techno and many other things! The one thing I will say now is that I somehow missed how tall you are! I guess because your pictures are always selfies. 🤭
