Normally i leave my TV on all evening from when i get home from work. It's on pretty quiet, and i'll watch a show for a bit, screw round on the net, whatever. Alison...Tina...may I most humbly suggest that Tina has misunderstood my sympathy for your ongoing separation. I would add that in my opinion, making observations and giving feedback is rarely a horrible thing to do and that such open, expression of honest feelings is what friendship are all about.
