I admit to becoming a Facebook fan of Captain CB Sully Sullenberger, as he's listed on the site.
I sort of want Gov. Paterson to appoint this guy to the Senate instead of that buffoonish Kennedy woman. I know, he's not a New Yorker but I think the law says he'd only have to live there on the day he's picked.
Being a New Yorker seems not to have been a terribly important criterion for being a senator from New York in the past. But yeah, anything that spares us another vapid Kennedy from their ne'er-do-well Third Generation is worth encouraging.
A true American hero. And all he did was his job, well.
As you insinuate, he has a political career if he's so inclined. So long as he doesn't have nut case views or some strange skeletons.
As much as I fly USAir, it was jarring when I heard the news (an audible "Oh no!" came out of my mouth), but it's good to know these planes are in good hands.
He grew up in North Texas, so the local news has been interviewing his sister, his childhood friends, and pretty much anyone else who's ever met him. Normally, I would be highly annoyed, but wow...I'm really in awe of him.
