Flight 1549

So in this article about US Airways pilot Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger III, we learn that he:
  • flew F-4s for the Air Force;
  • has a bachelor's degree in psychology
  • has master's degrees in industrial psychology and public administration;
  • is a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley, specializing in risk and safety;
  • owns a consulting firm that trains pilots to fly more safely;
  • raises guide dogs for the blind;
  • participates in charity walks and community events;
  • possesses "the silver hair of experience, the trimmed mustache of precision and the kind of twinkly, fatherly eyes that lend confidence when accompanying a friendly "Welcome aboard[;]"
  • is now the subject of a Facebook fan site;
  • owns a freakin' golden retriever.
In other reports, we learn he was as cool as a cucumber on the way down, and was the last person off the plane, after walking through the cabin twice to make sure no one was left behind.

If Barack Obama is in church today, he's praying, against all odds, that this guy is a Democrat. That's all I'm sayin'.
