Hyde. The Guv was in Hyde. It didn't mean the same, he knew. For Gene, Hyde was just another place. It didn't symbolize anything. It wasn't--fair. It wasn't fair that Gene could hop in a car and drive to Hyde, and Sam couldn't.
Well that threw me for a loop. Here I was thinking Sam would be upset that Gene might try to find some info on him from Hyde or something, but this is sooo much better! And the little hint of panic that it would be the same thing as Sam being from 'Hyde' is brilliant. I can't wait to see where this goes.
LOL It didn't even occur to me that Gene would go to Hyde for info on Sam. I was debating cutting the part you quoted for fear of it being too melodramatic, but now I'm glad I kept it in. :)
Ooo, some lovely introspection on Sam's part, regarding both the incident with Gene and his current situation in 1973. I, too, am wondering if Gene will find more in Hyde than just the prisoner. Can't wait for more!
This is a very interesting new chapter. There is a good bit of tension to it as well even though most of the chapter revolves round Sam's thoughts. And the depiction of the Sam and Ray antagonism feels true to the show.
Ray and Chris...captured so well! Gaping like fish--lol. I too am glad you kept that last bit! Melodramatic? Naahhh...a very real and intense curiosity. Am soooo glad I have seen this series!
