Office Tabs I can't imagine how I ever got along using Microsoft Word without this program. This program is especially handy for anyone who merges fics a lot.
Oh mighty formatting guru, can you tell me how you merge fics with this? Because I haven't been able to figure it out in regular Word and I'm courting a repetitive stress injury if I keep this up. Damn you, livejournal!
You explained how to format Word docs for my sony ebook reader about a year or so ago, and I've never looked back! Thank you, thank you...
Oh! I think I should have explained better. The reason this helps with merging fics is because now when you open multiple stories in Word you can access them via the tabs instead of having to down to the taskbar. I always found that annoying because if you had winamp open, firefox, any folders all those word files opened would be squished and you could never read the file name.
With the tabs that's not a problem anymore. But then again I'm a big fan of Firefox tabs. So basically, sadly there is no way to merge LJ except copy and paste the text into a single file. Trust me I'm looking for other ways all the time!
so depending on how you are saving the LJ entries to your harddrive, these might be a solution. (caveat: I have not tested nor tried them, coz I usually don't have a need for merging files, since I do not own ebookreader yet, and most of my reading is on screen of my laptop).
I'm saving the LJ stories as HTML. The problem with merging is all the comments and the LJ header...but I'll check out the links here and see if any can help me out. :)
if you like tabs that muchenderwiggin24October 5 2009, 12:38:57 UTC
I have been using qttabbar for the windows folders for while, so if you have lots of folders in use as well, might be worth a try to. (and you can have a pre-defined groups of tabs , that opened all once. Pretty much like the group bookmarks in firefox) http://www.freewaregenius.com/2007/05/13/qt-tabbar/
but since I most of the time using freecommander (dual panel, and with tabs) all the time, I pretty much now live without the windows explorer folder: http://www.freecommander.com/

these sounded really interesting, but they did not really integrate into my workflow, so I dropped them, but maybe its something for you, too.
