Patrick Dempsey knows a lot about hair care. He knows not to wash his hair every day (that’s pretty basic; natural oils need time to regenerate), to trim it every couple months (although Jill usually insists on cutting it bi-monthly), always use some sort of styling crème before blow-drying (otherwise the static electricity produced will make hair more likely to frizz), and not to go within five feet of a straightening iron (this rule usually doesn’t apply to himself, but he still keeps it in mind). Pantene Pro-V is evil manifested in bottle form, Crew dries out hair like a bitch, and Paul Mitchell is God. These are not new concepts. Patrick is just frustrated that most of his cast mates are completely clueless as to what they need to be doing to keep their hair healthy.
Jill is absolutely enraged by what Sean Flanigan has been doing with Katie’s gorgeous curls this season and how he has transformed Ellen’s potentially radiant hair into a “flat pile of frump” (Jill’s words, not his). And frankly, Jill kind of scares Patrick when she’s angry. Especially when she threatens to clamp Sean’s ears with a straightening iron if he doesn’t find some other way to part Kate’s hair. So Patrick’s going to stealthily post a list of basic hair-care rules in everyone’s trailer at some point this week and see what happens. And then maybe, just maybe, people will start taking a little initiative before walking over to get their hair done. Because honestly? Split ends are so 1995.
…And yes, he would know.
