I'd like to do a Soi Fong story once, but it's very hard to write her without making it about Yoruichi. Her connection with Yoruichi is pretty much the only private thing we know about her. It's not that I don't like Yoru and I am even a bit of a fan of the YoruSoi, but I would like to explore Soi Fong's character seperately ( Read more... )

This is so true! But most real people have someone in their lives who they find it impossible to relate to themselves without. And thse people have all had a huge impact on the character's lives, so I think sometimes one character really does necessitate another, like it would be impossible to write them in character without at leats a mention of that other person.

Yeah, that's true. I didn't mean it as a complaint, saw it more as something interesting to think about for what characters that was also the case.

I wanted to respond to this earlier, but I've been very busy. ^^;;; I can't speak about the ML, GW, FF, or Bleach pairings as I have not watched ML or Bleach, played FF, and only saw Wing through 25 or so ( ... )

I meant here not AU's but canon and then mostly canon as it is now in the manga/anime ^_^. I should have pointed that out better I guess ( ... )

I admit, I would argue that within canon there ARE no pairings in PoT. No matter how much we might want to see the pairing we ship as canon, canonically no couple is officially together, except I think in the manga Chitose is I believe officially dating Miyuki ( ... )

Prince of Tennis is really smart imo in that it caters to all kinds of fans just by not making anything canon. Like with Fuji, especially in the anime you can say he has something going on with Tezuka. But a strong case can also be made that he cares about his brother in a more than brotherly way. And then there's also lots of Fuji/other people hints for people to work with. Same with people like Ryoma, Tezuka, Sanada, Eiji... they all seem to have loads of options ( ... )
