Of new year wishes...

I cannot still understand the meaning of mass forwards/sms/emails/orkut scraps wishing new year, I mean how can someone wish everyone on their phone lists? Is it wishing at all? I feel this is just an occasion for you to know that you are on their contact list ( Read more... )

Thats ok, I'm sure you must have wished people whom you really wanted to in person/phone.

Well I did send out cards saying season's greetings (before christamas) but i never call people up cos it's my birthday on the 1st and i feel that it wouldbe like saying "dud it's my birthday too = so wish me for that along with a happy new year".
But i get your point and totally agree with you - i hate the mass sms messages.

hmm new years day.. received 57 happy new year wishes on orkut.. took a few minutes to delete the whole junk..
And I really wonder if any of them really wanted me to have a happy new year? i wonder if even one person thought of me individually and wished me.. except a few who wrote in my scrapbook. and of them, just Harshita wrote something persoanlized I guess.. Others were just the usual Cut-paste jobs..
Oh and BTW Wish you a happy new year Dude.. Wishing you a good future this year with your new job, house and life

Ya I would love to wish people personally. It shows that you actually are trying to wish.

absolutely agree with this....I would agree partially with PKS that such people might not want to leave anyone out (they still would wind up doing so)...but there is an element of laziness involved in mass wishing, I think. Better to wish people individually, even if you can't wish everyone, than generic "wishing"!

I do put up "Happy Deepavali" or "Happy New Year" posters on my front door but those are made by me and they are specifically for our visitors to see...and when they come in we would wish them properly too.

Thank goodness, I don't receive many mass "wishes"...but I do reply politely to those that I get.
