Sarah and I are on vacation. Yesterday we were up in Healdsburg, with my good girlfriend Liz (her husband took her twin boys to play putt putt so Mommy could "run an errand"), where we hit four wineries (I told the wine pourer at one of the places that I'd been training for months to get ready):

Too bad your vacation wasn't next week - you could have come to the Chris Crutcher thing at Books, Inc. in San Francisco. I'm going to be there. Try to control your grief over this missed opportunity of a lifetime!
I'm actually going to visit my sister and her brand new baby BOY - but will take in the bookstore thing, too. I'll get to meet literaticat!

Sorry we missed each other while you were in SF. I know it's probably not your bag, but the fire on Ocean Beach was a blast Saturday night. I'm sure the wine wouldn't have measured up to the rest of your journey though...I called it "ChuckGene" - 2 Buck Chuck in a Nalgene to get by the Rangers and the "no alcohol on the beach" thing.
